The program

What actually happens over the twelve months?

Most members will arrive busy, mid-season, with clients waiting. The year is built around that: the heavy decisions are front-loaded into month one, the visible pieces go live by month three, and the whole back half exists to hand the system over, so month twelve is a graduation, not a cliff.

Month by month

What happens in each phase of the year?

The year runs in four phases: an intensive first month of foundations, a launch push in months two and three, a tuning stretch through month six, and a long handover through month twelve. Each phase ends with something concrete you can point at, and the quarterly reviews keep score.

  1. Month 1

    Intensive onboarding

The business plan and brand direction get set. Website and SEO work kicks off with our web partner. Your AI assistant is built and loaded with your business context files. Bookkeeping is onboarded. And we define your scoreboard: the handful of numbers the whole year gets measured against. The qualified-lead target is agreed here too, and written into your agreement.

  2. Months 2 to 3

    Launch

The website goes live and the brand gets applied. The marketing plan starts running for real. Sales training begins, so new inquiries land on someone ready for them. The first quarterly review compares what's happening against the month-one scoreboard.

  3. Months 4 to 6

    Run and tune

The marketing system runs and gets tuned against real numbers rather than guesses. Sales skills get applied to live prospects with coaching close behind. The books are current by now, which makes the second quarterly review an honest one.

  4. Months 7 to 12

    Handover

You take it over. You increasingly run the marketing, the selling, and the numbers yourself, with the coaching cadence as the safety net. Final reviews, then graduation: the system is yours.

The rhythm

How often do you actually meet?

Three rhythms run all twelve months: a bi-weekly group session with the other members, a monthly one-on-one with Mark, and a quarterly review where your results get compared against your own scoreboard rather than anyone else's benchmarks. Admission works the same way throughout: one member at a time.

The group session is working time, not a webinar: members a phase ahead or behind you, same table, real numbers. The one-on-one is yours; it goes wherever your business needs it that month. The quarterly review takes the scoreboard defined in month one and compares it with what actually happened, line by line.

Two expectations sit underneath all of it: you attend the cadence, and you run your own sales conversations (we train you; we don't close for you). If either is a dealbreaker, the who it's for page will save you a call. Every deliverable inside the cadence is itemized on the what's included page.

Month twelve

What happens when the twelve months end?

At month twelve you graduate: the website, brand, plans, books, and AI assistant are yours, and you run them without us. There's no auto-renew and nothing that quietly keeps billing. If you want ongoing support afterward, that's optional and arranged near the end, not assumed.

That's the deliberate difference between a buildout and a retainer: a system you own beats a service you rent. The thinking behind it (and the person who runs the coaching) is on the about page; the full terms, including the 12 month commitment, are on the pricing page.

The objection

“Marketing needs constant work. You can’t build it once.”

You're right. Running marketing is ongoing work: publishing, following up, adjusting what underperforms. That part never ends, and much of the twelve months is spent teaching you to run it yourself. Building the system is different. A website, a brand, a plan, and a sales process get built once.

Most people pour the foundation two or three times because the first pour was cheap. This pours it properly once.

Want to see the numbers in person?

The Kickstart Roadmap is a live session that walks through what a service business actually costs to set up properly in the first year, and what order to do the work in. It runs monthly, in person, at Build It Once. If you already know you want to talk, book a conversation instead.
